Our Story
FOUNDED ON FRIENDSHIP
Established in 2005 by Brian Olson and the late Sabin Steinbacher, Premier Cuts emerged from the shared vision of two close friends. Inspired by the values of family and friendship, they aimed to create a salon where both team members and customers felt a sense of belonging, and that they were part of an extended circle of community.
The pair opened their inaugural location in San Marcos and soon after expanded to three thriving establishments. As years passed, Brian eventually assumed sole ownership while Sabin, with his entrepreneurial spirit, ventured to start yet another successful business. Brian and Sabin remained close friends until his passing in 2020.
19 years since its inception, with a remarkable 1.5 million haircuts under their scissors, Premier Cuts has blossomed into a Central Texas staple with over 50 dedicated employees and five bustling locations.
Beyond hairstyling expertise, Premier Cuts is committed to giving back to the local community. Actively involved in supporting future cosmetologists, Premier Cuts contributes free services and classes to various community initiatives, including local shelters and cosmetology schools. Additionally, development grants are provided to qualifying employees, reinforcing Premier Cuts' commitment to nurturing talent within their team.

Had my hair cut by Judith. I asked for a couple of inches off the bottom just to clean it up. She kept recommending that I add long layers for volume. I hesitantly agreed. Came home and looked at it and she ended up cutting at least 5 inches off AND the layers look choppy and really bad. I’m so unhappy with it and there is nothing I can do because it’s short and uneven because the layers were cut so badly. 😭 Do not get your hair cut by Judith. She will end up doing her own thing instead of just cutting it the way you want it. I’m so sad and disappointed because I will have to wait for it to grow back long enough to fix it. Which will probably take about a year. I will never return to that salon again.
I've been taking my son here for about a year now. My son's hair grows crazy and this has been the only salon that has stylist that can consistently cut his hair to my liking. I recommend Judith or Rebecca.
I have been coming here for about a year and 1/2 now. All ladies are very friendly. My stylist is Judith and she does a phenomenal job with my hair. She also makes sure that the salon is clean and welcoming for the patrons! Gracias Judith!

This place "Rocks" and takes care of Business!!!From the very 1st instance of walking into the doorway, we were greeted with a happy smile, and Angie (The Assistant Mgr) held the door open so that Mama could get in with her Imperial walker!!I had called ahead to Maria, who answered the phone to setup the appointment in advance. She was very helpful and kind.Angie escorted us over to meet Rebecca the Hair Stylist, and she did not disappoint.She assisted with guiding Mama to the wash chair and then continued to make connections with My Mama. They both talked about her favorite color (Purple) and I said 💜 that whe could color her hair next time to Purple! They both laughed 😅 🤣Everyone was Super attentive and easy-going with My Mama!! They made accommodations for her and treated her with extra kindness since it was her 1st getting hair done since moving from Chicago.She was extremely excited and happy to be the center of attention!! Angie,Rebecca and then Judith (The Store Mgr) came over to chime in and spoke Spanish to her! And that's all it took to seal the deal!! Mama was completely at ease and relaxed to be a Woman with these Wonderful Ladies.Kudos to the Entire Staff for making this such an enjoyable experience!! Not only is this place extremely useful and convenient, but also really engaging plus Professional!!They Treated Mama like Familia 👍 👌 and they gave her a kiss n hug upon departure!!We will definitely be coming back for more excellent services. I'm bald myself so I don't need much of anything.But Mama is definitely coming back now that she found this 💎 gem of a place!!Has plenty of stalls and even kiddie haircut spot too!!
